Overview
ParFinn ("we", "our", "the app") is a financial market tracking application developed by DigiLabs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address
- Full name
- Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
- Authentication provider (Google, Apple, or email)
Profile Information
- Profile photo (optional, uploaded via Imgur)
- Display name
Device Information
- Push notification tokens (for sending notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- Approximate geolocation (country-level, for default market selection)
- Device type and operating system
- Device and advertising identifiers where available (processed by Google AdMob to serve ads in the free plan)
Usage Data
- Watchlist preferences (stored locally on your device)
- Theme and language preferences (stored locally on your device)
- Selected country/market preferences
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Financial account information or banking credentials
- Trading or brokerage data
- Precise GPS location
- Contact lists or phone data
- Browsing history
How We Use Your Information
- Authentication: To create and manage your account
- Notifications: To send push notifications you opt into
- Personalization: To display relevant market data based on your country preference
- Communication: To send account-related emails (verification, password reset)
- Advertising: To show ads in the free plan. Plus and Pro subscriptions remove ads entirely.
Data Storage and Security
- Account data is stored on secure servers with PostgreSQL database
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
- Authentication uses JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with 7-day expiration
- Local preferences (watchlists, theme, language) are stored on your device using encrypted storage (Expo SecureStore)
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Advertising
The free plan is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Plus and Pro subscriptions remove ads entirely.
- ParFinn requests non-personalized ads only. We do not enable personalized advertising, show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or use AdMob to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Google AdMob may process device or advertising identifiers where available, IP address (including for approximate location), ads delivered, interactions such as impressions and clicks, and diagnostic data. Google may use limited ads when identifiers or consent are unavailable.
- On each app launch, Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) requests updated consent information and presents any message required for the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or applicable US states. ParFinn requests an ad only after UMP reports that the required privacy steps are complete. Your choices never cause ParFinn to enable personalized ads.
- Where Google requires a privacy-options entry point, you can revisit your choices in the app under Profile → Help & Support → Privacy & ad choices.
- You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
Data Retention
- Your account data is retained as long as your account is active
- You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us
- Local device data is removed when you uninstall the app
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of push notifications
- Review regional privacy and advertising choices where available
Children's Privacy
ParFinn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
